Ovens Still Warm writes an entire supper against a brick oven that is losing its heat while dinner is still being served — the menu is timed to falling temperature, not the other way around. One Match lights a whole hall from a single flame and works out exactly what that light can be trusted to do: pass routes, candle counts, burn times by room volume, and the conversation you have with a fire officer before anyone strikes anything. Cake Before Dinner runs the meal in reverse, so the most generous course in the house is the first thing a guest is handed at the door, and the savoury service has to climb from there instead of winding down toward it.

Bought separately these are three different Mini Books. Bought together they are the same discipline worked three ways: build the room around a source of warmth that is visibly spending itself, and make the spending the point.
